By accessing or using Doctective ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Doctective is a documentation automation platform that analyzes your code repositories to generate and maintain up-to-date documentation. The Service connects to your GitHub repositories and provides automated documentation generation, impact analysis, and code intelligence features.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account using your GitHub credentials. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. GitHub Integration

The Service requires access to your GitHub repositories. By connecting your GitHub account, you grant us permission to:

  • Read repository contents and metadata
  • Analyze code structure and changes
  • Create pull requests with documentation updates
  • Access repository webhooks for real-time updates

You can revoke this access at any time through your GitHub settings or by disconnecting your account from Doctective.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Upload malicious code or content
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

6. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to your code and documentation. Doctective does not claim ownership of any content you process through the Service. The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Doctective and protected by intellectual property laws.

7. Subscription and Billing

Certain features of the Service require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable fees. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis unless cancelled. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Doctective shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
